I spend some time and take some pictures. I don’t do much set up work. Most shots aren’t posed. I try to capture moments……moments of reality…………moments of beauty. I reproduce the moments in various ways - printed pictures individually and collections of numerous photos all printed together to produce a collaboration piece. I also use moving images (video) along with still images to create slideshows, short films, and documentaries. These are reproduced on DVD and or uploaded to the internet.

August 20 résumé2003 Sept 13 - 26 Sepia Collection at Firehouse Art Gallery 2003 Oct 18 - 31 Sepia Collection at Firehouse Art Gallery 2004 Feb - Handley Photography Show - An eclectic collection of images seen through the eyes of 9 different photographers 2004 Sept - Southside Photography Project - A group of local photographers assigned to discover and photograph subjects of interest in the Fort Worth Southside Development District 2004 April 2 - 22 The Blue Series at Firehouse Art Gallery 2005 Jan 8 - 26 Shutter & Soul Photography Exhibit - A Migration from Photography to Digital Art 2006 Sept 2 -29 The Photography of Stephen Marshall at Tarleton State University Langdon Center - The Hand Project 2006 Oct 1 - Dec 31 The Hand Project at Arlington Yoga Center 2007 Jan - Present The Hand Project at Firehouse Art Gallery The Hand Project was Stephen’s first solo undertaking. It was a year long study focusing on humanity using photography and short film. A complete DVD was produced by Cinnamon Roll Productions. The exhibit continues to be shown at various locations in the Ft Worth area. As of now it’s a traveling exhibit but looking for a permanent location in the future.
Other Stuff The Book “Langdon Review of The Arts in Texas” included Stephen Marshall and his Hand Project in the 2006-07 issue. Panache Magazine included an article about Stephen Marshall in July 05 issue - “Ft Worth man blends love of baking and photography” 1993 to present - Many photo shoots for the local rock band The Peach Truck Republic Fort Worth South Inc. featured works of art by Stephen Marshall at annual banquet and annual report publication in November 2004 Soiled Negative Series Collection in Dallas 8th Annual SMA Research Auction & Gala October 2005 Stephen Marshall has been a photographer for over 20 years. He studied graphic arts at the American Trades Institute - Graduated with a 4.0 in 1990. His photography has been in a number of exhibits and photography projects. He has owned the Kolache Shoppe bakery for over 10 years and did call that his “real job” but not any more. He just sold the business and does photography full time. He shows and sells his work as well the work of other artists in the bakery. His work has been evolving from various styles of photography to short film and now to music production. He also paints and uses other mediums in his art. |
